Insincerity is merely a method by which we can multiply our personalities. - Oscar Wilde

The story of a man drifting through life self-absorbed and unaware of the emotional damage he inflicts on those close to him. That is, however, until he is forced to come to terms with his own past and crippling baggage.

Out on a cold, winter night in the woods, John Harper falls further into a downward spiral. Already intoxicated, he continues to drink heavily while in the midst of a breakdown. Eventually he staggers out, picks up a nearby shovel and walks out into the darkened abyss.

As morning rises, we follow John on a car ride that sets a pace of reflection throughout the entire film. This ongoing drive leads us through a winding series of dead ends that exemplify the mundane.

These reflective encounters consist of an ongoing affair with a troubled woman named Isabelle. From there we delve further into John’s psyche as he is confronted by his wife Audrey—a woman in the final stages of pregnancy. In searching to redeem these shattered relationships, John tries to find escape in a foreign country where he once again finds a perverse safety in his reckless patterns.

When John returns, he sets out to resolve his ongoing issues as we follow him through an uncomfortable confrontation with his brother and into a heartbreaking revelation with his mother.
